Marvin Lee Vlastuin was born September 4, 1954 in Sioux Center, Iowa. Marvin is married to Marylou (McGuire) Vlastuin, and resided in Gentry, Arkansas. He graduated from West Lyon High School in Inwood, Iowa, and graduated from Southeast Technical Institute. Marvin worked at Sioux Preme in Sioux Center, Iowa, for J.B. Hunt after moving to Arkansas.
Marvin died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 64 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by five step-children, April Kantaphone and husband Ole, Wayne McGuire and wife April, Eric McGuire, Jose McGuire, Derek McGuire and wife Sam; his parents, Fred and Ann Vlastuin of Rock Valley, Iowa; his brothers and sisters, John Vlastuin and wife Helen of Rock Valley, Iowa, Eleanor Vande Stouwe and husband Greg of Lansing, Kansas, Don Vlastuin and wife Paulita of Farmington, Arkansas, Doug Vlastuin and wife Sheila of Rogers, Arkansas, Tom Vlastuin and wife Shelly of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, David Vlastuin and wife Danielle of River Falls, Wisconsin, Beverly Plantenberg and husband Kevin of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; 14 grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Vander Boon and John and Elizabeth Vlastuin.
Services in Arkansas will be Wednesday, October 17, with visitation at 5 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. at the chapel at Cross Church in Springdale.
Services in Iowa will be Saturday, October 20, with visitation at 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Rock Valley. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery.
